A spring clean for Springhead Cricket Club
Springhead Cricket Club’s clubhouse has undergone extensive internal renovations over the winter. Their new clubhouse interior will be much more suitable for cricket going forward, and has been completely gutted and revamped inside, with new changing rooms, shower, layout and bar with toilet (including disabled) facilities. It is also a much more suitable social area for members, families and residents alike.
They are having an official opening on Saturday 13th April at Midday. This is an open event for anyone who wishes to attend, and the clubhouse will be open all afternoon for anyone that wishes to come and have a look!
The address of the Club house is Springhead CCC, Mayfield Ave, Springhead, Oldham OL4 4SH
Additionally, Springhead CCC and the former Rochdale Catholic Club have merged to play under the banner of Springhead CCC at our Mayfield avenue Ground.
It was a mutually beneficial decision, based on the fact that we at Springhead have a secure 20 year lease and a ground, whereas RCC had quality players which could enhance our team – several of which have represented is in our T20 competition. They have played with and against these players for many years in the NMCL, and have an excellent relationship with them. 12 players have come over, many of which will form the nucleus of the new 1st XI.
This has enabled them to have 3 teams for the first time in our history, Div. 3 and 5E on Saturday, and a Sunday 3rd XI.
