Bright Futures School says good bye for the Summer

Saddleworth Life had the pleasure of joining the Pupils and staff at Bright Futures School (BFS) for children with autism in Grasscroft, Saddleworth, Oldham for an afternoon in their English garden.

As well as a social occasion and a goodbye for the summer to those attending, there was also a fundraising aspect of a raffle and selling plants that are left over from the children tending the gardens.

The small, independent, specialist school opened its doors and guests were able to look around the school, see pupils’ work on display and enjoy some delicious barbecue food.

The School also welcomed The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Javid Iqbal, who presented one of the pupils, Max Bagley, with his bronze award for personal development.

The School’s future, as it closes it’s doors for the summer, lies in limbo, not quite sure of where the children will be this time next year. The building remains up for sale, and they have no permanent place to move to.

A few businesses have started to work with the school to help them in their predicament. If you or someone you know have the wherewithal to help in any way please get in touch with the school and mention you’d seen this article in Saddleworth Life.
