Asked for it medium, and it was so overdone and tough it was like eating carpet. Peas are hardly even green anymore they're so overcooked, and the chips are bought in frozen ones. Starters completely unimaginative we skipped them. Also, didnt get the wine free with the steak until I asked at the end of the meal. Staff sat having their break next to us bitching about customers and drinking smirnof ice through straws. Really lazy attempt to serve food, I find it insulting to be served such substandard food. I took my family here for Sunday lunch and had the worst meal I have had for some time, eg rock hard yorkshire pudding, mushy veg etc and poor service. My Husband had a hot beef sandwich and chips, which was clearly using frozen chips and very greasy. My husband and I usually eat a couple of times a month in The Diggle and have done for some years, not now as they need to sort their food out. Serves a comprehensive range of good quality real ales, and classic pub group with no pretention. Bad Points none to speak of Review the pub offers a friendly atmosphere and there seems no extent to which the landord and landlady will stretch to to make you feel comfortable. The range and quality of beers is second to none and the genuine pub meals a credit to the hosts. The pie selections are particularly recommended.
