What is RED January?

What is RED January all about?

RED January is a community initiative encouraging people to support their mental health by doing something active every day in January. It can be 5 minutes or a 5k! Walking to work a new way, swimming or just taking the bike for a spin – the choice is yours!

Our local MIND Oldham, Tameside and Glossop have just have partnered up with National Mind and RED January to encourage all our staff, volunteers, trustees and the public to sign up to being active in January.

Exercise can be daunting so we encourage you to set your own goals, big or small but there will also be sessions locally you can link in with to keep motivated and perhaps try something different.

RED January is FREE and with this time of year being characteristically tough it will without doubt help keep your spirits up.

It can also tie in with potential new year’s resolutions, helping you to form healthy habits that could continue beyond January.

Optional: You can take part in RED January as a fundraiser, with profits going to TOG Mind to help the local community.

If you’re interested in RED January and you’re considering taking part, great! See below for some links for more info.
