Tweeters Plan Charity Summer Picnic In Denshaw
The people behind the charity Twestival held in Oldham back in March have revealed their next big event.
A family fun day is being organised for Denshaw on Saturday 9 July, with proceeds going to the local Scouts.
Although it’s being driven by users of information-sharing website Twitter, you certainly don’t have to be a tweeter yourself to go along!
For more details, here’s a preview written by Deborah Wroe of Owl Marketing:
FOLLOWING OLDHAM’S FIRST OFFICIAL tweet-up, Twestival, the organisers were asked to arrange another local get-together.
Deborah Wroe, Lead Organiser for Twestival Oldham, tweeted out a request for ideas and volunteers, and Helen Taylor of Saddleworth Llama Trekking Centre immediately offered up her top field in Denshaw for the #ehup (this is the hashtag you can follow on Twitter for more details).
The event will take place on Saturday 9 July from 2pm–8pm and will be a fundraiser in aid of the Oldham & District Scouts Group Scouts, for which Helen is a leader.
The event will be a fun afternoon, picnic-style, with activities for adults and kids put on by the Scouts. There will also be live music from local bands and a prize for the best picnic.
Eh-up(ers) are asked to bring rugs, food and drink and enjoy the beautiful views of Saddleworth from the fantastic Llama Trekking Centre. Cost will be £5 per car and there is plenty of parking. Cars can also be left overnight if required. For those on public transport or walkers, organisers are asking for £5 per party of five – it is a fundraiser after all!
