CCTV Images Released After Vandalism At Mossley Mill
Woodend Mill in Bottom Mossley has issued these CCTV images, after two recent incidents of vandalism.
The pictures were taken just after 11pm on Friday 13 May. According to the Mill, the four young men shown in the images were on level three of the Mill 2 building at the complex. Some padlocked doors to individually-rented units, used by artists and small businesses, were damaged.
In a separate incident last weekend, seven out of eight windows were smashed at a second-floor unit used by local photographer Jude Gidney. Two other nearby windows were also shattered.
Ms Gidney commented: “It’s very annoying and costly to a small business such as mine, and others in the Mill, and leaves us feeling very vulnerable.”
She added: “The Mill has a wonderful community of artists and the Woodend Artists Group has been working together now for over three years and goes from strength to strength. Attacks such as this make us very angry that there are people around that wish to cause mindless damage to something that we work very hard to make enjoyable for the community.”
Police are investigating. Woodend Mill passed the CCTV footage to officers, but chose to release the images directly to Saddleworth News.
