Balsam Bashing In Dobcross This Saturday

Looks pretty, but it's a pest. (picture: ArtMechanic)

Local countryside rangers and the Saddleworth Civic Trust will be taking part in a spot of balsam bashing in Dobcross this Saturday.

Himalayan Balsam is notorious for affecting both the growth of native species and the state of riverbanks, and everyone’s welcome to join the rangers to help clear away some of the pest from the local area.

The group will be meeting at Holy Trinity School at 10:30am. There’ll be lunch later on in the Brownhill Centre.
