Car crash this morning at Dobcross

There has been a road traffic accident this morning at the junction of Sugar Lane and Wool Road, Dobcross.
We have no further information yet and do not know about any injuries or the circumstances surrounding the crash.
We hope to update in due course.

I am not surprised it hasn’t happened before! I use Sugar Lane 6 days a week and coming down to turn right to Uppermill is like taking your life in your hands. Cars coming down from Stanedge or Diggle cosistently cut the junction to turn up Sugar Lane and I have had too many “near misses” to count. The stupid thing is – the drivers cutting the corner look at me as though it’s my fault for being positioned correctly at the junction.
I agree with you Lynne, only yesterday myself and my friend were crossing Sugar Lane and a car came tearing up from Diggle cut the corner and just missed us I am surprised no one has been knocked down there. I think it could do with some kind of a bollard in the middle maybe that would slow drivers down and stop them cutting the corner.
I too have used this junction for years and if you position yourself correctly at the junction to turn right, cars coming across from Diggle side almost always just miss taking your front end off and give you dirty looks!
Totaly agree with all comments, this is a bad Junction.
Hope no one was hurt!
