Car Hits Tree Near Buckstones Road
A driver had to be cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle after crashing into a tree near Buckstones Road this afternoon. The incident happened on a stretch of track which leads off Buckstones Road, past Pingot Quarry, and up to Slences Farm.
According to a spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue, an emergency call was received just after 1pm. Fire engines from Oldham and Chadderton attended, along with police and the air ambulance.
Firefighters cut the man out of the car using hydraulic equipment and electric saws. The driver was given oxygen during the process.
After he was released, he was passed into the care of paramedics from the air ambulance team. There was no immediate word on his condition.
