Christmas Jazz with the Aniko Toth Jazz Trio at The Swan
On Sunday 15 December, Singer Anikó is joined by Steve Kilpatrick & Alan Williams on guitars, for a Christmas jazz performance in Dobcross.
The delightfully talented singer Anikó returns to The Swan, with her trio for a sumptuously festive Christmas musical evening which includes jazz arrangements of fun and cheeky Christmas songs, such as ‘I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus’ and ‘Santa Baby,’ as well as Christmas carols with the trio’s unique jazz twist – from a bossanova ‘Silent Night’ to their own arrangements of classic carols, like Quem Pastores Laudevere!
Sweet, slow, soulful, sultry, and swingin’!
Swan audiences gave Anikó rave reviews when she appeared here with her trio and again performing an evening of Cole Porter songs earlier this year.
Anikó has a sweet tone that goes from breathy and light to sultry to powerful. Trained in Los Angeles, at Hungary’s Franz Liszt Music Academy and in the UK, Anikó has performed in LA’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the Millennium Theatre of Budapest, and London’s Royal Albert Hall, as well as Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall and The Sage in Gateshead and The Swan, Dobcross.
Performing with a variety of collaborators, from Meredith Monk to Manchester’s Hallé Choir, she has been broadcast on BBC Four, BBC Radio 3 & 4, PBS (USA), and Bartók Rádió (Hungary).
