From The Editor: Holiday

I’m off on holiday for the next week.

But keep checking Saddleworth News, because I’ve stored up a great series of articles which will be appearing here over the coming days, including interviews with the organisers of the Saddleworth Show and Yanks festival, as well as with some great local businesses. There are also stories about the cuts at Oldham Council and the redevelopment of Uppermill Civic Hall, plus plenty more besides!

My being away means that some of your comments may not be moderated as quickly as usual, but I will try to log in and approve them every now and again.

Meanwhile, May turned out to be the third best month for Saddleworth News in terms of visitor numbers, with 21,409 unique visits. Only December and January had more, and that was largely down to the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election, so many thanks to all of you for your continued support.

Today is also my birthday. The video above offers a clue as to how many candles are on the cake!
