Fundraising Appeal Over Destroyed Dobcross Stables
An appeal has begun to raise money for the riding school in Dobcross which suffered a devastating fire last week. The stable block and other buildings at the Husteads Riding School were gutted by the blaze on Thursday night.
Thankfully, no horses were injured in the fire, which spread quickly and was only brought under control after ten fire crews were sent to the scene. However, a huge amount of damage was caused to equipment as well as buildings.
As well as the stable block, the tack room, two barns and a feed room were lost, along with a lot of feed. Supporters of the school have set up a Facebook group to gather ideas for fundraising, and to help raise awareness of their efforts.
Anyone who has unused riding equipment, including tack items such as stirrup leathers and brushing boots, grooming kits, tack cleaning equipment, wheelbarrows, yard brushes and buckets is being asked to consider donating them to the appeal.
