Improvements Proposed For Centre Of Holmfirth
Improvements to streets in three areas of central Holmfirth are being proposed. The places identified during a recent audit of the village are the area around Holy Trinity Church, the corner of Huddersfield Road and Victoria Street, and the end of Hollowgate.
The planned changes have been described as “small improvements” by Cllr Donald Firth, who is the chair of the Holme Valley South Area Committee, which is funding the work. They include things like repairs to railings and paving stones, and the sprucing up of flower beds. The Committee will decide exactly which of the improvements to carry out first once the costs have been finalised.
More details of the proposals are available on the Kirklees Council website here. The plans will also be put up in Holmfirth’s Tourist Information Centre.
