Inspire Women Oldham and stories from the Women

Inspire Women

Inspire Women is a tapestry of the interwoven lives and experiences of a group of Oldham women, their stories contributing to the writing of a new story. Their story is an inspiring one of women helping women, of women hoping for and enabling change, of women re-defining their stories, their previously unheard wisdom shaping a dynamic, co-created organisation that encompasses and celebrates Heart Centred Leadership. They can be found in the heart of Oldham and welcome those that would like to find out more and join them.

Jayne reflects on her journey:

“When I first joined Inspire as a Member I had no confidence, I wanted to get rid of the anxiety and negativity I felt every day.  I couldn’t connect properly with people.  I felt very lonely and isolated and suffered from very low days regularly.

Joining Inspire has helped me to get rid of the bad negativity in my life. I have met lots of new ladies and made many friends. Through meditation, and engaging in lots of the programmes I have learnt how to turn negative thoughts into positive ones.  I recently became an Associate and I have shadowed Maria, helping to deliver our Inner Goddess Programme.  I love it and gain so much from it myself.  Looking forward- I am growing my confidence every day and am enjoying the new and different paths my life is taking me.   I would love to get a part time job as a Family Support Worker helping other ladies. My life is completely different now to what it was 4 years ago. I am very confident and have lots of ambitions. I can look forward to the future”

MaryAnne shares her Member to Associate journey:

My journey at Inspire started at the end of April 17, and the growth that l have been abIe to achieve in such a short space of time would not have been possible anywhere eIse.

Women First Connectors is an enabling pathway that Facilitates the Journey of lnspire Women Members to Associates, that is co-Created by the women.  At the heart of this approach is a common thread of identifying, valuing and building on strengths.  This includes a reframing of language that focuses on individual strengths and capabilities, rather than needs and deficits.

We see the wholeness and potential of women not what is broken and it is from this space that we begin our connection. We use our  passion and devotion to improve the worId, inspiring other women to begin their own life changing journey, turning the impossible into possible.

I have certainly been doing a lot of what I thought I never would, because of the restrictions placed upon me by society, and myself.  We believe that harnessing the gifts that women have, creating both the space and culture for women to develop for themselves is key to sustaining thriving communities.  Inspire women offers enabling and transformational pathways that facilitates the journey of Inspire Women Members to Associates that is co-created by the women.

The pathways are built upon foundations of kindness, equality and giving, with an emphasis on growth and greatness.  Women are taken on a progressive journey of becoming visible, finding their true voice, becoming leaders of their own lives, inspiring other women to realise their gifts and purpose.

I have personally struggled to find myself and my purpose, apart from being a mother, but since becoming a Member and subsequently an Associate at Inspire Women, I have found my purpose, and it is to help other women break down barriers.  As women join us from being members to Associates those stories are built upon and the message becomes stronger as they become more visible.  Their lives, journeys and stories are their messages, facilitating opportunities to co-produce collective stories that shape, and support the constant development of Inspire.

That growth for me began as a member unsure of herself and her place in society, and is now standing before you today as a Changemaker, An Associate of Inspire”

MaryAnne now facilitates sessions every week at the Centre and has become known for the laughter, dancing and joy she brings into  to our space. She is a fabulous example of a woman finding happiness through finding her purpose.
