Jill and Jack do Panto

Last night I had the real pleasure of experiencing the phenomenon that is Pantomime at the Millgate Arts Centre in Delph.

It was a fantastic evening of singing, dancing and brilliant crowd pleasing. It contained all the usual aspects of a traditional Panto but with a few clever twists that made me smile.

Ben Richards (writer and director) and the Dream Factory have produced a ‘not to be missed’ piece of entertainment that highly amused both adults and children alike. The characters were larger than life, not to mention the Giant. With a ridiculous and lovable Dame, sparkly silver fairy, very silly Billy, handsome hero Jack, brave tomboy Jill and horribly evil, wicked Fleshcreep, it was difficult to say which was my favourite.

I’ve had uncomfortable experiences at Panto as a child but my belief that Christmas isn’t Christmas without a trip has been restored.

The Millgate Arts Theatre in Delph offers a cosy venue and a great place to shout and scream at the antics going on on stage.

Well done to all involved and thank you to Micheal and Tim of ‘Saddleworth Live’ for helping to bring the Theatre alive at Christmas. #supportlocal
