Listening to the Authors
This year’s Saddleworth Literary Festival is all set and ready to let the words flow.
As part of the launch Marie Elsa Bragg will be discussing her writing journey and her debut novel, Towards Mellbreak and then there will be a showing of the film The Levelling. This is taking place at the Millgate Arts Centre in Delph on Fri 23 at 7pm.
The Mayor & Mayoress of Oldham have kindly agreed to open the Saddleworth Literary Festival at 11am on Saturday 24 March at Saddleworth School.
The schedule for the Festival includes a plethora of speakers and presentations from the local writers Angela Blyth known for
her Saddleworth Vampire book series to Barbara Ann known for her Policeman Pete books.
Speakers Buzz Hawkins and Mike Sweeney will also be entertaining the audience. Face painting which will be done by two very talented students from Saddleworth School and activities based around Jenny Dayton’s fantastic fairy sanctuary, a rescue and re-homing centre for fairies, right here in Saddleworth.
Professional author and poet, Bill Broady, will be on hand to provide critical appraisal and encouragement for all aspiring writers.
