Media Focuses On By-Election Battle

Broadcasters and newspapers alike have carried reports on the Oldham East and Saddleworth by-election today, as the last weekend before polling day draws to a close.

BBC Radio 4’s The World This Weekend carried an in-depth look at the battle from presenter Shaun Ley, who was in Uppermill on Saturday recording it. The BBC’s Politics Show in the North West broadcast a half-hour special this lunchtime, featuring a debate between the three main party candidates. However, this isn’t yet available on the iPlayer.
