Meeting arranged to discuss the decision to close the Saddleworth Air Cadets

A meeting has been arranged for 11th June at Saddleworth School in order to address closing Saddleworth 2200DF cadets. The meeting is due to start at 7.30pm.

Dave Archibald (Wing Commander who is responsible for the decision to close the unit) and Mark Leening – OBE – North Regional Commandant, has arranged the meeting and will both be in attendance. Both Dave and Mark have confirmed that they will be there to explain why the decision has been made to close the DF and answer any questions anyone may have.

Kathryn Lorne, mum to one of the Air Cadets, told Saddleworth News and Life: “As a community I think it is extremely important for 2200DF to remain open and at Saddleworth school. As they participate in numerous events throughout Saddleworth that none of the other squadrons are part of ie Yanks Weekend, The Saddleworth Show, Whit Weekend, Remembrance Sunday and more. Please feel free to invite anyone else to the meeting who you feel would like to help and support Saddleworth 2200DF to remain open.”
