Here are some more images of the fire at the Grosvenor Chemicals plant in Linthwaite. They were taken by Flickr user terrierandy7, and you can see more of his pictures at his page here.

The blaze was brought under control in the early hours of this morning by more than 100 firefighters. Manchester Road has now reopened in both directions and buses are running normally once more.

A strong smell has been reported by people across the Colne Valley, and people near the plant have been advised to stay indoors for the time being. Anyone suffering breathing problems has been told to call an ambulance immediately.

You can read more details about the blaze in an earlier story from Saddleworth News here. More information is available from the Examiner here, the BBC here and Sky News here.
