Oldham’s Christmas Lights To Be Switched On By Wallace And Gromit
Wallace and Gromit will be the special guests switching on the Christmas lights in Oldham this Sunday.
According to the council, the switch-on will also be followed by a colourful fireworks display, lighting up the town centre.
The stage will be lit up with Christmas characters helping to get the crowd in the Christmas mood. There’ll also be a prize draw with five £50 gift cards for Oldham’s Primark store up for grabs. To enter click here, or pick up a form from the shop itself.
The Mayor of Oldham, Greenfield’s Cllr Richard Knowles, will join Wallace and Gromit on stage to press the button. The show begins this Sunday at about 4:20pm, and is scheduled to last an hour, with the fireworks at 5pm.
The stage will be next to the war memorial, and anyone wanting the best view is being told to go either on Clegg Steet or in front of the Old Town Hall.
You can get more information, including details of other attractions in the town centre between now and Christmas, from the council website here.
