Saddleworth Blog Nominated For Award

Reflections On A Wasted Life

A blog written by a Saddleworth man about his cancer has been nominated in the Manchester Blog Awards.

Reflections On A Wasted Life, which is written anonymously, is up in the Best Personal Blog category.

You can have a read of it here (it’s well worth a look): reflectionsonawastedlife.wordpress.com/

Along with a team of judges, the public will get a say over which blogs in the various categories will ultimately win the awards at next month’s ceremony.

Far be it from me to show any preference, but let’s just say the link allowing you to see the shortlist and vote for your favourite sites is here!

The achievement is all the more remarkable given that Reflections On A Wasted Life has only been going for a relatively short time. The writer received the news of his diagnosis on 7 August, and detailed the experience in a blogpost here.

This is the sixth year of the Manchester Blog Awards, which are held as part of the Manchester Literature Festival. The winners will be announced at an event at the Deaf Institute on 19 October.
