Saddleworth Ladies Fundraising Committee come to the rescue of the Oldham MRT

Last night, (Tues 10 July)  the Saddleworth Ladies Fundraising Committee handed over £1,000 to Oldham Mountain Rescue.

The money will help with essential equipement and supplies during the ongoing fires. The ladies caught the team just as they were going back to tackle the peat fires. Apparentky they had been popping up all evening.

“They do such an amazing job and we are so pleased that we could release some of our funds for such a worthy cause” said Vicki Broughton, spokesperson for the Committee.

 

The committee in past years have raised an average of £12k each year for charities such as OSCA (Oldham supports Carers for Autism), Christy’s Oldham, Mahdlo, Oldham Mountain Rescue, When you Wish upon a star, Oldham Young Carers, MIND, Cold Nights and many more.

Each year SLFC hold many events including Fashion Shows, Comedy Nights, Girls’ Nights, walks, abseilling, Themed nights, family roller skating day and other sponsored events.
