Summer Sundays At Dobcross Band Club

Last year's Brass on the Grass.

Dobcross Band Club has announced that it will continue to open on Sunday afternoons for the time being, after it proved a success during May.

The club’s social committee has also released details of events being planned at the venue in the coming weeks and months.

For Whit Friday this Friday, the club will be open all day and there’ll be a barbecue on the car park. The following day, the club will again open all afternoon, and will again act as a stop on the Saddleworth Beer Walk.

On Saturday night, there’ll be an All-Star Brass Concert and hog roast supper in aid of Help for Heroes, with tickets costing £14 still available from the club and the Albion Farm Shop.

This year’s Brass on the Grass featuring the Dobcross Silver Band in Church Fields takes place a week on Sunday, that’s 26 June, at 2pm. Later that night, the Whit Friday presentation evening will be in the club from 8pm.

Other forthcoming highlights of the club’s programme including the Atherton Malone Bowling Competition, which is now scheduled for Sunday 3 July instead of 26 June, and the Dobcross Youth Band concert and summer draw on Saturday 16 July at 7:30pm.

Tickets are also available now for the Dobcross Christmas dinner at the club on 17 December, which will feature comedian and impressionist Les Gibson, a recent finalist in Britain’s Got Talent. It’s £30 per person and the tickets are apparently going fast.
