Theatre Group Coming To The Swan In Dobcross

Something a little out of the ordinary will be on at the Swan in Dobcross next Monday night. The Marsden-based Mikron Theatre group will be presenting a performance of its latest play, about the building of the Bridgewater Canal.

Hell and High Water takes us back two and a half centuries to 1761 when the canal was first opened between Manchester and Worsley. The group promises a show full of “big characters, live music and lots of fun” telling the story of the three men who conceived the idea of the canal, as well as the many hundreds who then worked to build it.

The show begins at the Swan at 8pm on Monday 26 September. There’s no need to get a ticket in advance, and a pay-what-you-want collection will be taken at the end of the evening.

More information about the production is available at the Mikron website here. There’s also a Facebook page here.
