Uppermill Cubs and Scouts help Uppermill Community Association Network

UPPERMILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION – SUPPORTED BY CANAL & RIVER TRUST

Scouts and Cubs from Uppermill kindly volunteered to help UCAN with this years’ Himalayan balsam bashing.  Over two evenings a very enthusiastic effort was made by them and thanks to their fantastic help a large area near the stepping stones has now been cleared of this invasive plant.

UCAN have also tackled the roadside along Den Lane and made a good start on the balsam in the viaduct woodland helped by one of our youngest ever volunteers.

Other tasks during the month included painting at Wade Lock and general litter picking along the towpath.
