Windy and cooler with some rain then decent again – Thursday 21st May 2020 – Bank Holiday Monday 25th May 2020

Hi all,

Our settled weather, which has become the norm since the lockdown started, is set for a hiccup over the coming days, but all looks good for the Bank Holiday. We are starting to need some rain, I for one, am sick of watering the garden but despite the brief unsettled spell, the next 10 days sees little.

Thursday: Not as hot as yesterday. A cold front will be moving east which might introduce some showery rain for a time during the morning. Sunny spells appearing later and still feeling warm. Max 19°C

A deep area of low pressure will control Friday’s weather

Friday: Low pressure to our north-west will introduce a band of showery rain followed by sunshine and showers. It will be notably windy for the time of year with 40mph gusts quite widely. Max 17°C

Weekend: Cooler

Saturday: Continuing windy with sunny spells and a few showers. Again gusts to 40mph. Feeling cooler. Max 15°C

Sunday: Feeling fresh at times in a steady breeze which will still be gusty. Some more showery rain possible but tending to dry up later. Max 16°C

Bank Holiday Monday: Looking lovely with sunny spells and dry. Temperatures recovering too. Max 20°C

High pressure returns from Bank Holiday Monday

Outlook: High pressure to our south will control things; sunny spells and warm with little rain expected.
