February is proving to be a busy month for Greenfield’s Off The Rails Comedy Club. A fundraising show for Saddleworth Rangers ARLFC is already sold out but there are still tickets available for two shows later in the month.

Sunday 22nd February sees TV regular Alun Cochrane introduce Michael Fabbri whose dark and honest approach manages to effortlessly slip between some harsh, controversial topics to light-hearted silliness to make for a refreshingly eclectic and brilliantly funny act.

“Startlingly insightful” – The Guardian

Opening the show is saddleworth newcomer Rich Wilson who has loved comedy ever since his older next door neighbour gave him an Eddie Murphy cassette. “It was the most
mindblowing thing I’d ever heard. My young ears had never heard language like it.”

His comedy aspirations lay dormant until he got a job as a barman at a London comedy club. Following some back slapping by those around him, Rich took to the stage and now performs at all the major comedy clubs in the UK and has even found Frank Skinner declaring himself a fan!

‘He’s a very, very funny man’ – Frank Skinner.

The show starts at 8pm and advance tickets are £9 each from the venue or online.

The parents and staff of Greenfield primary school will be rounding the month off in style on Saturday 28th December. Headlining is West Yorkshire’s Nick Doody’s whose career got off to a flying start, when Bill Hicks asked him to support him on his final UK tour. Sharp and topical, his brand of political comedy and satire has won him fans all over the country…in fact all over Twitter as well, where he’s polled as one of the influential names in British comedy.

Nick features frequently as a guest on radio and vox-pop television shows and has written for 8 Out Of 10 Cats, The Late Edition, Radio 4’s The Now Show and Armando Iannucci’s Charm Offensive.

“Intelligence, originality and some cracking gags to boot” Metro “The cornerstone of opening act John Lynn’s comedy are his thoughts on the pros and cons of singledom versus long-term relationships, such as the one he is in. He has some very well put-together routines on the topic, with fine observations building into a very satisfying segment which will strike close to home for many.

‘Filthily funny’ – The Guardian.

Compere for the evening is Rob Riley and guest act is Tom Taylor. Admission is £12 or advance tickets at £10 each can be purchased from the venue or online at www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk
