A grant is available for all homes and businesses that were flooded
Oldham Council is urging anyone whose property was flooded following Storms Desmond and Eva that they could be eligible for financial support.
A grant of £500 is available for all homes and businesses that were flooded while people can also claim a Council Tax/Business Rates Discount for the time their premise could not be occupied.
A Flood Resilience Grant up to a maximum of £5,000 is also available to make properties more resilient to future flooding. This will cover the extra costs of certain measures over and above reinstating a property to the level it was before flooding.
So far the council has received 13 applications for the £500 grant and two for the Flood Resilience Grant.
However, the council believe that other properties were affected and we are urging urge those households and businesses that have not yet been in touch to contact us.
Further information, support and details about how you can claim support is available on the council’s website at www.oldham.gov.uk/info/200578/emergencies/1562/flood_relief
