Becoming Warmer – Thursday 9th May 2019 – Sunday 12th May 2019

Hi all,

It’s been a poor week of weather, especially temperature-wise, with us failing to reach double-figures on 3 occasions. Last Friday we only had a maximum of 8.1°C, that’s what we would expect in mid-March! We’ve seen little in the way of warm sunshine but that’s about to change.

Thursday: Low pressure close by, drifting into the North Sea bringing us a chilly northerly wind. Cloudy at first with some brightness developing. A few scattered showers later in the day. Cold. Max 10°C

Friday: Bright spells and heavy showers pushing west to east and easing towards the evening. Max 12°C

Weekend: Improving

Saturday: A cold start then high pressure should start to build from the south. Plenty of dry weather, low chance of a shower, with sunny spells and less cold. Max 13°C

Sunday: Sunny spells and feeling warm. Max 16°C

Outlook: High pressure, at this stage, seems to take hold, leading to dry conditions with sunny spells and variable amounts of cloud. Warm with temperatures in the late-teens and perhaps slipping into the 20s.

Don’t forget your sun-cream as UV levels are now moderate and the sun is as strong as it is in August.
