If you’re starting 2018 wanting to improve your health and wellbeing, then help is on hand every Thursday at Emmaus Mossley.

Be Well Tameside, part of Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, is offering free and friendly one-to-one support to anyone wanting to make positive changes to their health, lifestyle or wellbeing. The Be Well service can support you to make those small changes which can have big benefits to your life.

Would you like to feel better about yourself, improve your sleep, adopt a healthier diet or stop smoking? Matthew Hutchinson, a Be Well Tameside health professional, is on hand every Thursday at Emmaus providing regular support to help you achieve your goals.

Matthew said: “It has been a great experience to offer support at Emmaus and the response has been really positive. Seeing healthy changes in others is what we are all about. As a Be Well advisor I am keen to spread the word to the people of Mossley and customers that by making small changes it can have a huge benefit to us all.”

Matthew has been visiting Emmaus Mossley for the past few months, supporting companions, volunteers and staff alike with anything health or wellbeing related. He is now keen to extend the service to the wider Mossley community, allowing customers who visit Emmaus to also receive one-to-one health advice and support.

Harry Barlow, a staff member at Emmaus Mossley who has taken advantage of the service, said: “A chat with Matt is nothing like the doctors – he’s friendly and supportive, helping me make positive changes in my life. I would definitely recommend him to others.”

Emmaus Mossley supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a home and work in a community setting. The charity runs a social enterprise in Mossley, selling donated and upcycled furniture, household goods, clothes, bric-a-brac and vintage wares.
