There was a minor incident in Greenfield today when a bus operated by First Group began to leak liquid from its engine compartment as it travelled along Chew Valley Road.

At approximately 3.15pm the driver of the bus became aware of the leak and immediately pulled over to the side of the road.

He used a special substance to soak up the spillage and prevent any further contamination issues.

He then then waited at the scene until a recovery truck arrived.

No one was injured and traffic on the highway was not affected.

Adrian Worsfold, Operations Director at First Manchester, told Saddleworth News: “We can confirm that one of our vehicles suffered a minor leak and as a precaution a substance was used to soak up the liquid from the road.”
