Charity Zumba Marathon In Uppermill

A charity event featuring the dance-fitness craze zumba is taking place at the Parish Church Hall in Uppermill early in October.

The Party In Pink Zumbathon will be held on Sunday 2 October from 1:30pm to 3:30pm, and is in aid of breast cancer charity Breakthrough. It’s £5 to enter.

Similar events are taking place across the country, and the Uppermill one is being organsed by Charlotte Campbell of the Saddleworth-based Inspire Dance Academy.

She explained: “I know quite a few families that have been affected by cancer and my grandma died seven years ago from it. I’d wanted to do a charity event for a while and thought the zumbathon charity event would be really good fun for everyone.”

Charlotte started putting on dance and zumba classes in June, and they’re held at the Parish Hall on Lee Street on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Please note this is not the same building as the Civic Hall, which is at the other end of the street!
