Delph And Dobcross Crush Marsden
Delph and Dobcross remained top of cricket’s Huddersfield League with a thumping victory at Marsden on Saturday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, D&D’s openers Irfan Zahoor and Bruce Cruse both made centuries as they put on 201 for the first wicket. Luke Hargreaves added a quick 47, including five 6s, as they were eventually bowled out in the last over for 346.
Marsden struggled desperately in reply, and only one batsman managed to get into double figures. Bilal Khiljee took 5/13, and Adnan Ghaus and Warren Jones added two wickets apiece, as Marsden were dismissed for just 41, making the final margin of victory a remarkable 305 runs.
