Delph And Dobcross Into T20 Quarter-Finals In Style

Delph and Dobcross reached the quarter-finals of the Twenty20 Cup this week, after some epic hitting in a comprehensive victory over Micklehurst.

D&D went into Tuesday night’s match knowing they needed to improve their run rate to qualify, having slipped up against Barkisland earlier in the pool stage.

And they went about it in spectacular style, finishing with an astounding 326/5 off their 20 overs, a rate of more than 16 per over!

It was openers Faisal Butt and Luke Hargreaves who did most of the damage, as they put on 234 for the first wicket. Butt hit 115 off 43 balls, with eleven 6s and eight 4s, while Hargreaves wasn’t far behind with 109 off 42 balls, including nine 6s and ten 4s.

In reply, Micklehurst were all out for 123, giving Delph and Dobcross victory by 203 runs. D&D will face Elland in the last eight, while Golcar play Broad Oak, Skelmanthorpe face Kirkburton, and Barkisland go up against Honley.
