Delph Community Association are ‘Growing for Gold’
Delph Community Association in partnership with Oldham Council are ‘Growing for Gold’ to celebrate RHS Britain in Bloom’s 50th Anniversary. Local Bloomers are holding a FREE basket planting day from 10am -12.30pm on 22 May to celebrate this landmark year.
‘Growing for Gold’ is the theme of RHS Britain in Bloom 2014
Jo Green, from the Association, said: “As part of our on-going efforts, we’ll be planting over 30 hanging baskets with members of the local community to decorate the high street and private gardens. We will be celebrating Delph’s natural beauty as well as Bloom’s golden anniversary. Everyone is welcome to join us for the celebrations. As well as the chance to plant a basket with expert assistance from Oldham Council, we will also need help finishing all the tea and cake on offer! Please do join us if you can – and bring friends.”
Graeme Gibson from Oldham Council said: “For the last few years, Oldham has been very successful in North West and Britain in Bloom. A big part of this success has been thanks to local people joining in and showing they care about their own patch of the borough. We would love to repeat our success this year, so please come along and play your part in helping Oldham bloom and grow!”
