Double Defeat For Mossley
Mossley suffered two disappointing defeats within four days. Following Saturday’s heavy defeat at Skelmersdale, they went down at home to Leigh Genesis last night.
It finished 4-0 at Skelmersdale, with the home side taking the lead on half-time, and knocking in three more goals in the second half. You can see a match report at the Mossley website here.
But if the defeat to the promotion-chasers was perhaps to be expected, last night’s setback against struggling Leigh came as a surprise. Leigh went into the game bottom of the Evo Stik Division One North table, but scored once in each half for a 2-0 win. In the only other match of local interest to beat the weather at the weekend, Springhead lost 3-1 away to Manchester League leaders AVRO. Springhead are 12th in the 16-team table, which you can see here.
