Easter Fun For Diggle And Uppermill Youth Project
Young members of the Diggle and Uppermill Ecumenical Youth Project have enjoyed a variety of activities over the Easter period.
They took part in an Easter egg hunt around Dove Stone Reservoir near Greenfield (pictured), and held a movie marathon and dance workshop.
The youngsters also put on an open day at the Cellar Youth Club at Uppermill Methodist Church, and baked dozens of cakes to sell to passers-by in the village, raising more than £60 for the youth project.
Lead youth worker Jenny Eden said: “It was fantastic to see the young people getting out into the community, engaging in a positive activity and taking an active role in supporting the project that they get so much out of.”
She added: “We had some really positive feedback from people who came in and the young people obviously enjoyed themselves.”
The open day was so successful, Jenny said there are already plans for another this summer. The youth project also hopes to get involved in the Saddleworth Festival of the Arts in June.
