Festive Treat As Pinocchio Show Comes To Uppermill

Mark Whiteley preparing for last year's Christmas show.

This Christmas, Saddleworth youngsters will get the opportunity to see the classic story of Pinocchio performed at the Civic Hall in Uppermill.

The production has been put together by the Oldham Children’s Theatre, and it’s the fourth year in a row that the group has put on a Christmas show at the Civic. The show is particularly aimed at the under 9s, which sets it apart from other festive theatre shows.

Last year the group did Red Riding Hood, which went down a treat with youngsters and their parents alike. The group uses talent from the Saddleworth and Oldham areas, and this production of Pinocchio has been written by the group’s founder Mark Whiteley, of Springhead.

Pinocchio will be running from 12 December until Christmas Eve, with two performances on many of the days. Some of the shows have already sold out, so it’s best to book tickets in advance to be sure of the date you want.

Tickets are £4.75 and are available at www.oldhamchildrenstheatre.co.uk
