It’s not working, it’s CARING at Caremark Oldham

Local vacancies with flexible hours

Caremark are looking for people with kind compassionate hearts who would like to make a real difference to their clients ‘quality of life’. Their Care and Support Workers provide a variety of non-medical services to keep clients independent in their own homes.

Shaeen, (pictured) who has been employed as a Care and Support Worker at Caremark for three months, says ‘I had never done care work before starting at Caremark, but they have provided great support and training and I really enjoy my job.  I am really enjoying meeting lots of new people and I feel that the support I am giving to older people in their own home is making a positive difference to their lives. The hours are flexible and I am able to work around my home life. Caremark is a great company to work for: they have great values and are very supportive if I have any problems or concerns.’

Caremark support adults in their own home or to access the local community for activities such as Shopping, ‘Men in Sheds’, Bingo and many other activities that the clients ask us to support. Caremark also support children with additional needs to access the local community and for personal care needs in their homes. Children’s community support can include visits to the park, leisure centres and Youth Zones.

Mohammed (pictured) who had previously worked in care supporting adults came to Caremark as a Care and Support Worker so that he could have the opportunity to also work with children, says ‘I am really enjoying the job and being able to work with children, I feel that the company are very proactive and if I do report any issues or concerns that they are acted on quickly and resolved. I am particularly impressed with the way that Caremark actively encourage me to make sure that the children I work with, can make their own informed decisions about the activities that they want to do so that I can support them to develop confidence out in the community.’

You don’t need any experience or particular qualifications to become a Care and Support Worker although experience of working with, or caring for, older people, children and or young people would be useful. This could be personal experience of caring for a family member.
