Emmaus ran the silent auction last week and Laura donated half of the profits from the sale of her paintings to the charity, which helps homeless people.

Terry Waite was also present as a guest and donated a signed copy of his book along with Laura’s picture to help raise funds.

Laura also works at the the Mossley centre as a volunteer.

Laura’s painting called “Skyscape”, is part of a large series of works based on the sky (others in this series include “Vapour” and “Airwaves”). Most of these works have been sold to private and corporate buyers.

There are also pieces on permanent display at the Lime Tree Cafe, Top Mossley & Christy’s Cafe, High Street, Uppermill.
