Local Pink Floyd Band Back At Uppermill Civic Hall
A Pink Floyd tribute band fronted by an Uppermill musician return to the Civic Hall this Saturday night.
Fink Ployd played to around 300 fans at the venue last year, and to see part of that gig you can click on the box above.
Paddy revealed that the band has had input into the recent renovation work at the Civic. Ahead of last year’s show, one of the band members upgraded the hall’s fire alarm system so the smoke detectors could be de-activated in some areas, allowing them to use smoke machines during their performance.
He said: “For a lot of venues it’s not a big consideration, sometimes you turn up at places and there’ll only be one plug or something. So to have input from real musicians is probably a good idea, hopefully everyone will reap the benefits.”
As with last year’s gig, the band will be playing the Floyd’s classic album Dark Side Of The Moon, but Paddy is also promising some new songs as well as an all-new lightshow.
He added: “We’re hoping for a good local turnout. If we could sell it out that would be awesome.”
Tickets priced £8 are available in advance from the Hare and Hounds in Uppermill, or from Ticketline here.
If there are any tickets left they’ll be £9 apiece on the doors, which open at 8pm.
You can find out more about the band in a past Saddleworth News article here, as well as from the band’s own website here, and Facebook page here.
