Marsden Jazz Festival Starts Tomorrow
One of the biggest weekends in Marsden’s year is almost upon us. The three days of the Marsden Jazz Festival begin tomorrow, with dozens of concerts planned at venues across the village.
Tomorrow night’s headliner is none other than Mr Stranger On The Shore himself, Acker Bilk, who’ll be performing at the Mechanics’ Hall with his Paramount Jazz Band. Bilk is now 81 and has been touring for more than six decades, and is still going strong. Tickets are £29.
As for the rest of the gigs, check the listings at the festival’s website here. More information is also available by phone on 01484 846969.
The volunteer-run festival first took place back in 1992. Around three-quarters of the events are free of charge, all the more reason to pop along at some point this weekend!
