Missing Dog Found Safe

There was a happy ending to the story of Oscar the missing poodle which Saddleworth News featured last week. He was found safe and well near Grains Bar on Friday night.

Oscar had managed to escape from kennels in Rochdale last Tuesday. It was thought he was trying to make his way home to Greenfield, where his owners live.

By Wednesday he’s already made it back to Saddleworth, and was spotted walking between Delph and Denshaw. The next sighting was on Friday on Buckstones Road near the Black Ladd pub at Grains Bar.

Drinkers, diners and staff from the pub and the nearby Vamasaki restaurant, who had heard about Oscar, then managed to track him down to a bramble bush near the road where he’d got himself stuck.

Holly Charnock, who helped lead the search, has asked me to pass on her thanks to everyone who helped out. It’s not known exactly what Oscar made of it all, but no doubt he’s enjoying being back in the warm and dry!
