More Details About Oldham’s Twestival

There’s a fortnight to go before Twestival Oldham, and organisers have revealed more information about the charity fundraising day.

Two events are going to take place on 24 March, both in aid of the Saddleworth-based Oldham Mountain Rescue team.

Between 4pm and 6pm, a family-friendly ‘Sunlight Twestival’ will be held at the Earl Dance Centre at Earl Mill. Activities will include dance lessons, cookery demonstrations and face painting, with entry just £2 for adults and £1 for children.

From 6pm to 9pm, it’s ‘Twestival After Dark’ in the Corner Flag Suite at Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park. Hosted by the Latics’ warm-up man Broady, there’ll be a raffle, auction and a locally-themed quiz.

The cost of a ticket is £10, but everyone will receive a free goodie bag with all manner of treats supplied by local businesses.

Among the companies to have supported Twestival Oldham so far are Oldham Athletic, Oldham RL, Earl Dance Centre, Owl Marketing, Hay Tarn Willwriting, The Big Event Company, Dominos Pizza, Brazilian Soccer School, Street College, Rainbow Delicious Bakery, Urban Haze, Chefology at the Golden Fleece, Pamper & Pose and Itsa Mistry Design.

Oldham is just one of more than 160 towns and cities around the world taking part in Twestival, a concept inspired by information-sharing website Twitter.

The organisers here are still keen to hear from individuals and businesses who might be able to help out. Anyone interested is asked to contact Deborah Wroe by e-mail at deborah@owl-marketing.co.uk
