Mossley-based artist Jean Fitzhugh, who merges photography and painting in her work, is holding an exhibition at A Month of Sundaes in Marsden.

Jean’s art will be on display on the first and second floors of the coffee and ice cream shop for the next couple of months, alongside work by her friend Joan Dean. It follows an exhibition of Jean’s work at the Brownhill Centre in Dobcross, which ended last month.

Earlier this year, Jean told Saddleworth News about how she’d grown more interested in art and photography since taking early retirement, adding: “As I love photography and and I love painting as well I’ve decided to merge the two together in my pictures. So in effect each picture I’ll be displaying will start off as a photograph, but then it carries on into a painting so the two media become one solid picture.”

Meanwhile, A Month of Sundaes, which also has a shop in Uppermill, is now on Twitter. You can get following by clicking here.
