Old fave and fresh faces!

John Gordillo.

Saddleworth’s Off The Rails Comedy Club returns to its usual last Sunday of the month slot with some new faces and an old favourite to headline the show.

After a 6 year break, John Gordillo returned to live stand-up in 2006 and performed his debut solo show ‘Free John Gordillo’ at the Free Festival at Edinburgh 2007.

He originally left the circuit to host and co-create The Recommended Daily Allowance (The RDA), a nightly comedy/talk show for BBC Choice, which by turns infatuated and infuriated BBC bosses in equal measure and won a devoted mini-following, running for two years until the channel was re branded as BBC Three.

John also worked on directing shows for comedy superstars such as Reginald D Hunter and Eddie Izzard.

Although it’s been three or four years since John last appeared at Off The Rails he is one of the most requested acts we have had on which is testament to what he can do on a stage.

“..manages the rare trick of being moving and wildly funny”Metro “Brilliant. Heartfelt and hilarious… he’s dynamite”The Times.

“One of our finest stand ups”Evening Standard “An inspiring comic thinker”The Guardian.

Falklands veteran Nick Wilty opens the show, Chris Washington takes the middle spot and former Daily Sport showbiz editor John Warburton comperes.

Admission is £8 with advance tickets strongly recommended, either from the venue, or online at www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk
