Old Town Hall consultation report now online
A report detailing the findings of a recent consultation event about the future of the Old Town Hall is now available online.
Hundreds of residents attended the event held inside the Grade II-listed building last month and the consultation period ended on June 12.
Visitors viewed information board and artists’ impressions in the Egyptian Room – opened to the public for the first time since the 1990s – and were able to give their views and quiz officers.
Oldham Council had commissioned BDP to investigate a range and mix of possible uses that could capitalise on the building’s location and suitability, plus an ability to sympathetically conserve as much of the existing building as possible.
The proposed scheme outlined how a redevelopment could incorporate a new cinema, cafes and restaurants, and retail outlets.
The report on the consultation findings can be viewed on the Oldham Council website at: www.oldham.gov.uk/townhall_consultation
