Power Out In Denshaw

Homes in Denshaw and some parts of Delph were left without power tonight. Householders began to report the problem shortly before 8pm.

According to Electricity North West, damage to equipment was to blame. It said its engineers had begun work on fixing the issue, and that most homes should have the power back by 11pm.

However, it added that homes close to the site of the problem would have to wait until the early hours. Flickering lights were also noticed elsewhere in Saddleworth.
