A Dobcross resident has been left shocked and angry after his car was badly damaged outside his home after being hit by a passing vehicle that failed to stop.
The man, who does not want to be named, lives on Dobcross New Road in the village. He told Saddleworth News he was “very upset and angry” at the damage caused.
He said: “I am very surprised nobody had seen or heard anything and that the offending vehicle has just made off without stopping.”
Another local resident said: “Whoever did this must have know they had hit the car, the damage is quite considerable and to make off afterwards without leaving any details is quite shocking.”
It is thought the car which was parked on Dobcross New Road was hit early this morning. A Saddleworth News reader has told us he noticed the damage to the car at around 8.30am whilst driving past.
The owner has said he is reporting the matter to the police and has appealed for any witnesses to contact them with information.

Unfortunately this is not the first incident like this. My relatives car was badly damaged by a passing vehicle which did not stop, this situation was made worse by my relatives car being pushed into another car causing damage to this car as well. It cost a great deal of upset and money at the time to sort it all out.
Feel for the guy . I do that stretch every day , the lack of respect by some drivers is appalling . The lack of respect around the school at that time (8-30am) in the way parents are parking . Is something that needs addressing also . It’s slowly becoming a very selfish world , I hope you find some witnesses . I drove by at 845 and noticed it .
