Saddleworth North Debate This Thursday

The debate will be held upstairs at The Swan in Dobcross.

A reminder that the public debate between the candidates standing for the Saddleworth North ward on Oldham Council takes place this Thursday night.

All are welcome to attend the hustings, upstairs at the Swan in Dobcross at 7:30pm.

Liberal Democrat Derek Heffernan is hoping to retain the seat. He’s up against Independent candidate Ken Hulme, Phil Sewell of the Conservatives, and Labour’s Sean Fielding.

The debate will take place in the traditional Question Time-style format, so there’ll be an opportunity for members of the public to take part and ask questions of the candidates.

Besides Dobcross, the Saddleworth North ward also covers Denshaw, Delph, Diggle, Austerlands and Scouthead. The discussion will focus on local issues relevant to those villages, and no doubt it’ll be a lively evening!

(Editor’s note: I’ll be chairing the debate)
